Building and Safety Division

The Building and Safety Division is responsible for processing building permits, plan checks, conducting site and building inspections, monitoring construction activities and enforcing Ojai's codes. 

The Building Division counter is open Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm for submittals ONLY.

**UPDATED AVAILABILITY**

The Building Inspector, Jackson Ethier, is available to answer questions at the counter between 8 am and 9 am – Monday through Thursday – or via email at jackson.ethier@ojai.ca.gov.

**UPDATED INSPECTION SCHEDULE**

Inspections are conducted Monday through Thursday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. No inspections will be conducted on Friday’s.  To schedule an inspection call the 24-Hour Inspection Request Line (805)653-2238.  To get an inspection window, please call 805-646-5581 EXT 112 after 9:30 am.
